2024 Vendor Applications - CLOSED

Please note that 2024 applications are now closed. Unfortunately, late applications cannot be accepted and we do not have “drop-in” vendors. All vendors must go through the application process which is now closed. Applications for 2025 will open early January, 2025.

2024 market Season

WFM is held in the Upper Village in Whistler, along the pedestrian-only stroll at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. We benefit from the tourism foot-traffic associated with the Blackcomb gondola and surrounding hotels and businesses, as well as a vibrant local following. Markets operate 11am-4pm on Sundays, May 19 to October 13, 2024 (22 markets in total).

Regarding Saturday Markets: We hope to continue running the four Saturday long weekend markets in 2024, which typically have approx. 25 vendors. Please note that Saturday markets tend to have fewer customers, but many vendors still see value in attending them.

If you apply for Saturday markets - please be aware that these going ahead will be contingent on volume of vendor interest. This will be confirmed asap, at the latest by the end of January 2024.

Proposed Saturday dates are: June 29 (Canada Day weekend), August 3 (BC Day weekend), August 31 (Labour Day weekend), and October 12 (Thanksgiving weekend).

Before you begin

  • Products at the Whistler Farmers’ Market must be 100% baked, made, grown or raised by the applicant. Applicants are required to provide details of the production process to demonstrate this. If you are uncertain whether your product qualifies, please reach out to [email protected] for direction.

  • Whistler Farmers Market is a competitive market. Please note:

    • Not all applicants can be accepted.

    • Selection criteria is based on a points based matrix. Applicants are awarded points for previous participation, however previous participation does not guarantee acceptance into the market.

    • Vendors do not need to apply for the whole season to have a successful application.

    • Applications with missing information or do not follow the application process will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed by the jury.

  • Note that acceptance into the Whistler Farmers’ Market does not guarantee that you will be awarded all requested market dates, or sell all products in your application. Please only apply for dates that you can commit to. Applicants are expected to participate in all dates that they apply and are accepted for.

  • Please make sure that you are aware of the current regulations around operating from a farmers market.

  • Ensure that if accepted into the market, that you can then provide all required documentation and proof of insurance to the Market. See Vendor Categories below for more information.

  • Whistler Farmers Market has a new and comprehensive guidelines and policies document. Please review here.

VENDOR COLLECTIVES

Collectives are intended to support small scale farm, food and arts initiatives. Multiple vendors within a common theme (e.g. Farm) may come together and share a market booth space. Collectives must be applied for specifically and each member of a collective – and their products - MUST apply and BE APPROVED separately. Each participating vendor in the collective must pay an annual membership fee. Reselling is strictly prohibited. Collective booths must display signs of all the vendors that are selling that day and display price tags with the name of that vendor on them.

Ready to apply? Follow these steps

STEP 1:

Familiarize yourself with the requirements of the market and the point system (the system used for judging each applicant). Once you are sure you meet the BCAFM requirements of 100% baked, made, grown or raised - proceed to the next step.

STEP 2:

Create a profile on Manage My Market. If you already have an existing profile, login to your account.

STEP 3:

Complete the 2024 Whistler Farmers' Market application form at the link below. Before applying, we recommend you have this information handy:

  • Quality product photographs that will be used as part of the jury process and for marketing purposes if your application is successful.

  • Market dates you would like to apply for.

  • The number of years you have participated in the Whistler Farmers’ Market.

STEP 4:

  • Update your Manage My Market profile with detailed information and photos of your products in the “Products” section.

  • Understand the documents you will be required to provide if your application is successful. See Vendor Categories below for more information.

STEP 5:

Update your profile with detailed information and photos of your products. All vendors are required to upload high quality images, product and production process information for ALL products that they intend to sell. Please provide this information in the “Product” section of your Manage My Market profile. The jury judges your products based on this section so please put your best foot forward.

In addition to the above, food/drink/liquor vendors that are required to jury must provide product samples to the Market Manager. Determine if you are required to participate in the Jury Process. Management will connect with applicants that are required to provide samples.

STEP 6:

Applicants will receive an email on or around March 20, 2024 regarding their application result. At this point vendors have 7 days for any schedule adjustments without penalty, after which you will be invoiced for approved market dates for the season. Once invoiced, payment must be received within 10 DAYS to secure your place in the market. Fees are non-refundable. See 2023 Fees.
